This is my best tornado encounter 2 date... nearly 150 yards from a violent drill bit, rope tornado on I-40 just to the east of Shawnee, Oklahoma. We had witnessed an earlier tornado in the Northwest part of the state... and rushed south as new storms fired to the south! As we approached the Oklahoma City metro area we heard a number of tornado reports from this storm, due to high moisture content nothing was visible until we popped out of the haze near the storm and this tornado soon touched down. The debris in the air includes parts of a billboard, semi trailer, and trees along the side of the interstate.

This is an excellent photo. I love the level of detail in it, specifically the fact that you can read the numbers on the road signs. It really gives you a sense of how close you are to the tornado.
